I was really excited to see the new "Clash of the Titans" out. I remember the one from the 1980's with I believe a yound Harry Hamlin as Perseus. It was tremendously enjoyable. There is something that has always intrigued about myth and magick, gods and godesses, witches and wizards. The wizard in Some Fools, A Turtle and Queen Elizabeth . is named Humidor, yep, folks, just like the cigar box. He is the son of Thermidor and grandson of Cuspidor. His family crest is a cigar smoking lobster named Stoagie. Humidor was originally a wizard in Queen Elizabeth's Court and he promised ot fill her treasury with gold, the best he could do was change rocks into flying squirrels. Needless to say, he was given swift exit by the Queen. Wnat to know more?Of course you do!

I was intending to deliver a sample of Some Fools, A Turtle and Queen Elizabeth to my dear friend, photographer Luiza Pinzon. I had the terribly bad taste to decide that I needed to use the public restroom in my office building. Because I didn't want to take my book into the stall, so I placed on a dry counter in the restroom. After that, I went into the stall. While I was in the middle of my performance, I heard someone enter the ladies' room, wash their hands, and leave. As I exited the stall, the copy of the book was gone and nowhere to be found along with some postcards I had made up to hand out to friends. All I can say is, I HOPE YOU LIKE THE BOOK AND SAY NICE THINGS ABOUT IT SOMEWHERE!

Hi there! Thanks for coming to visit Darker Intentions Press.com. I am the author of the book and I would like to tell you a little bit about it. The inspiration for this book came about because my daughter, Simone,  who was 9 at the time, had to write a "persuasive essay" for school. She actually created the main character, Peppy Birthdaycakes, the young jester-in-training.  Peppy wasn't a very good jester, but he persuaded people to give him a chance. My daughter is now 12, soon to be approaching 13, and for all you mothers out there, I am sure you can understand how "uncool" she thinks Peppy is right about now. Hormones, I guess and an annoying mother! Ha! But I have to tell you...I fell in love with Peppy and I think if you read this book, you will too! I have always been intrigued by jesters. One of the finest book you can ever read about  ourt jesters is Fools are Everywhere: The Court Jester Around the World by Beatrice K. Otto. This book is extremely well written and very interesting if you like court jesters and the whole concept of fools. I highly recommend this book.

Some Fools, A Turtle, and Queen Elizabeth is a children's book with a readability level between 5th and 7th grades. It is Peppy's story about how he overcomes his shortfalls as a court jester. Of course, like any good guy, he has to have a foil, and that is Humidor, son of Thermidor and grandson of the great mage Cuspidor. I especially enjoyed creating that character with words, but He was REALLY given life by Dariusz and Agnieszka Golen, my dear friends and illustrators from Poland. What talent they have! They gave Peppy and the other character incredible artistic dimensions.
